Filippo Contesi is a Research Fellow in the “Piero Martinetti” Department of Philosophy at the University of Milan, Italy. He works in the Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca-funded research project on “The Foundations of Fiction” (PRIN2022 – 2022NTCHYF_003), led by Elisa Paganini. He is also a Senior Member of the LOGOS Research Group in Analytic Philosophy at the University of Barcelona, Spain.
Filippo does philosophical work in art, language and mind from a cross-disciplinary perspective. Some of the topics on which he has published include the nature and aesthetics of several affects, including disgust, horror, boredom and frustration, linguistic justice and the aesthetics of philosophy, the role of empirical data in aesthetics and the nature of propaganda. He was also founder of the Minorities and Philosophy UK network, creator of the Barcelona Principles for a Globally Inclusive Philosophy and first author of the Online Accessibility Pledge.
At the University of Milan, he co-convenes the online-accessible series Filosofia Inter-Disciplinare (FID).
