Francesca Minerva is an Associate Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of
Milan. She has been awarded full-time research grants to work at the University of
Melbourne (2011–2015) and the University of Ghent (2015–2019), and she was a research
fellow at the University of Warwick (2019–2021).
Francesca has published extensively on various topics in applied philosophy, including
cosmetic surgery, discrimination based on appearance, human enhancement, cryonics, and
brain uploading. She is the author of The Ethics of Cryonics: Is it Immoral to be Immortal?
(Palgrave, 2018) and co-author of Rethinking Conscientious Objection in Healthcare (Oxford
University Press, 2025)
